Thelma Newman Tracy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, left this earth on January 8, 2010. She resided at 3217 South Elmer Street (7945 West) in Magna, Utah at the time of her death.
She was born November 30, 1919 to William McKean (Billy) Newman and Matilda (Tillie) Price Newman, and graduated from Box Elder High School.
Thelma married Seth Elwood Tracy on March 24, 1939 in the Logan Temple. Thelma worked at the Tooele Army Depot for seventeen years until she retired.
She held many positions in the LDS Church, and served as a temple ordinance worker with her beloved husband Seth in the Jordan River Temple for twenty-one years. Seth and Thelma also served a mission in Perth Australia from 1983 to 1985. She also made patchwork quilts and crocheted afghans for her family.
She was preceded by her son, Larry Tracy, brother, Francis Newman, sister, Irene Newman Francis, her parents, two grandsons, and one great-grandson. She is survived by her husband, Seth; two sons, LeGrande and Lorrin; and two daughters, Valerie and Beverly. She also leaves behind twenty-two grandchildren, fifty-five great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother, Rachel Robbs, Idaho; Hazel Brown, Washington; David Newman, California.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in the Lake Ridge Third Ward Chapel, 7700 West 3120 South, Magna. Family and friends will celebrate her life one hour before the funeral at the Church. Interment will be in the Lake Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
